DIGITAL APPLICATIONS FOR CHILDREN STARTING P1 IN SEPTEMBER 2021
At present the Education Authority (EA) are continuing with online applications for admission to Primary 1 in September 2021.
A digital portal to apply online will be used, requiring parents to list preferences of schools. The online portal opens on the 7th January and closes at 12noon on the 29th January. This replaces the previous paper based application form and parents should aim to complete the process well before the closing date.
Though the process is mostly digital now, parents will still need to provide their child’s birth certificate directly to the first preference school at the time of application. Schools will also seek other verification documents in relation to your address and it is important that you supply these.
Information on the procedures for school admissions in September 2021 will be available on the EA in the near future.

Last year, EA provided Assisted Digital Support for parents and users of the new digital system. This was in the form of a telephone service, enhanced website content with a number of informative videos. We will provide updates as we receive further information from the EA.
