Girls’ NetballDecember 2nd, 2010 The girls’ netball team played a friendly against Gilford Primary School and were beaten in a very tight match. The girls played extremely well and could have won, but for the edge of the ring which had a nasty habit of keeping the ball out. The final result however was 13-12 and proved to be great experience for this new team as they had to contend with a very tall Goal Defence. Emma and Hannah showed that Mrs Balfour’s gruelling training regime is paying off as they scored all 12 points. Emily was no push over as she dictated things in the centre and final third. Anna and Zoe were very strong in defence and showed no fear! Eve, Courtney and Chloe all ran themselves into the ground as they supported attacks and defence for the full half hour. Thanks to Gilford Primary for their hospitality and a really good game. Posted in Sports | Comments Off Boy’s footballNovember 30th, 2010 The boys’ football team travelled to local rivals Bocombra for a friendly match and after going down to an early goal they fought back to win 3 – 1. Harry led the recovery with a magnificent individual effort. The ball was cleared by the Bocombra defense and it fell in front of Harry. He controlled it and then fired a shot over the goalkeeper and into the top corner of the goal. Ben took the team into the lead in the second half when he drilled his shot just inside the far post. Michael secured the victory when he was put one on one with the keeper and he kept his cool slotting the ball past the keeper. Well done boys!
